Mrs Asma Shhaltoug, a Jordanian senior engineer who has been working in the field of cultural heritage conservation and management in the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities of Jordan since 1995.
Eng. Asma has been working as the head of Engineering and Conservation Directorate in the capacity of the Department of Antiquities.
The core of her experience including the assessment, design, management, implementation and evaluation of conservation projects conducted in cultural heritage sites, she have also contributed in the formulation of local and regional strategies in addition to technical and financial proposals in collaboration with different international organizations, academic and governmental institutions for various projects such as Qusayr ‘Amra Conservation project and Site Management Plan. This project is collaboration between the Department of Antiquities of Jordan, World Monuments Fund and the Istituto Superiore per la Conservazione ed il Restauro, and it won apprise as one of the best practice in conservation in the region.
