Darko Komšo

Born on March 21, 1972 in Pula, where I finished elementary and high school. I graduated archeology in 1999 at the Department of Archeology at the Faculty of Philosophy, He was born on March 21, 1972 in Pula, where he finished elementary and high school. He graduated archeology in 1999 at the Department of Archeology at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zagreb and  enrolled a postgraduate study at the Department of Archeology at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zagreb.

He works at the Archaeological Museum of Istria in Pula since 1996. Until 2000, he worked at the workplace of museum technician, from 2000 to 2007 on curator jobs, from 2007 to 2017 as a senior curator and from 2017 on jobs as a museum advisor. From November 17, 2008 to January 15, 2009, he was the Director of the Archaeological Museum of Istria, and from January 15, 2009, as the director of the Archaeological Museum of Istria. On January 16, 2017, he was elected for third time on the period of four years.
In the period from 2005 to 2009 he was the representative of Istria and Primorsko-goranska County in the Central Committee of the Croatian Archaeological Society and performed the function of the 2nd level museum historian. He was a member of the Administrative Council of the Osijek Archaeological Museum from 2009 to 2012 and from 2014 to 2018 he was president of the Museum Council of Archaeological Museum in Zadar. He is a member of the Coordination Center for Local Studies of the Istrian County, the Partner Council of the Urban Area of ​​Pula and the Commission for Cultural Events in the Cultural Monuments of Pula. From 2016 Ihe was a member of the Croatian Museum Council. Since 2017 he has been a member of the “Vicko Andrić Prize” Committee.
He authored and conducted 4 solo exhibitions with accompanying catalogs, participated as co-author on 4 exhibitions with accompanying catalogs, and held numerous workshops of experimental archeology. He participated in more than 70 domestic and foreign professional and scientific conferences. He is the author of 120 scientific and professional papers, published in domestic and foreign journals. He participated in more than 50 archaeological research and recognification, mostly as a leader. He is the head of several major archaeological projects (CRORA – CROatian Rock Art; Paleolithic and Mesolithic Sites in the North Adriatic; Kargadur). As a museum director he produced over 140 exhibits and was the chief and responsible editor of more than 100 publications.
