Lidija Petrić, Phd

Ph.D. Sc. Lidija Petric was born in Split in 1963. She graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Split in 1986. She also received her doctorate at the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Zagreb. The degree of Doctor of Science in the field of social sciences, field of economics was acquired in 1998. The position of full professor was elected in 2007; 2012 was chosen as permanent professor. In his current scientific and professional work, Dr. Lidija Petrić has published more than 70 scientific papers, of which four books (2 independent, one in co-authorship and one, international, in editorial). She has participated in numerous international and domestic scientific conferences. She wrote reviews of numerous articles published in domestic and foreign journals as well as book reviews, conference proceedings and scientific-professional studies. As guest lecturer she attended professional conferences and seminars, postgraduate studies, as well as international conferences and seminars.

As a collaborator of UNDP, GEF, WWF, the Center for Regional Activities of the Priority Action Program, and the local public (Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Ministry of Regional Development, Splitsko-dalmatinska County, City of Split and other JLS) and non-governmental institutions Green Action) she has participated in the development of numerous professional projects, and for some of them had been a professional leader. She has been a scientific leader and researcher at the international project TOURMEDASSETS, performing in the consortium of several European universities, funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and is currently engaged in three international MED projects. She is a member of the editorial board of several domestic scientific and professional journals, and she was also in the scientific committee of several international conferences. She is a member of the International Association of Regional Economists of Europe – the European Regional Scientists Association and the Scientific Committee for Tourism at the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.

Lidija Petrić teaches professional subjects from the field of tourism at all levels, from professional to postgraduate studies. She is a mentore to many students at all levels of study (including doctoral studies). The primary areas of scientific interest for the prof. dr. sc. Lidija Petrić are the economy of tourism, tourism destination, tourism and development, tourism and heritage. She is active in English and passive in Italian.
