Goranka Horjan, art historian and profesor of English language and literature, is a prominent Croatian museal with a respectable international career. She was director of the Museum of Croatian Zagorje in three terms and during 2004 and 2005 she worked as Assistant Minister of Culture of the Republic of Croatian for International Cultural Cooperation. Since July 2015, she has been the director of the Ethnographic Museum in Zagreb. She has led the investments of several capital museum projects in the Republic of Croatia, and is currently running the project of restoration of the Ethnographic Museum in Zagreb. She is awarded for merit in culture by the Order of Danica with the figure of Marko Marulić, and she received the annual national award CBT – Croatian Business Tourism for the Best Manager in Business Tourism in 2012. She is the author of several exhibitions, the editor of several monographs as well as the author of numerous articles published in international peer-reviewed journals.
