Awards 2019

Solin Tourist Board , Hotel President Solin and the City of Solin, within the 5th International Congress of Historical Cities, held from 26th to 29th March 2019. at Hotel President Solin, by the decision of the jury, have awarded the winners with the International cultural-tourism award “Plautilla” in three categories. The award is given for the quality and innovation in historical cities management, in the field of interpretation and protection of cultural heritage, and the promotion and distribution of cultural tourism products.

The winners of the awards are:


1) BEST CULTURAL TOURIST PRODUCT

The award relates to those tourist boards/ institutions / companies / crafts etc. for the best tourist product that is characterized by the quality and creative interpretation of the cultural and historical heritage.

Golden plaque: The public institute Ljubljana castle, Slovenia / for cultural tourism product “The experience of the Ljubljana castle”
Silver plaque: Tourist Board of Kaštela / for cultural tourism product “Legend of Miljenko and Dobrila”
Bronze plaque: The Tourist Board of Vinkovci / for cultural tourism product “Roman Days”

 

2) HISTORICAL CITY / LOCALITY / INSTITUTIONS
The award relates to those cities / institutions that have significant achievements in the protection and conservation of cultural heritage.

Golden plaque: Museum of Apoksiomen, Lošinj Museum for the institution “Museum Apoxiomen”
Silver plaque: Archaeological Museum of Istria for the institution “Archaeological Museum of Istria”
Bronze plaque: Tourist Board of Ston for the historical area “Cultural and historical area of Ston”

 

3) BEST CULTURAL TOURIST ITINERARY

The award relates to itineraries that present the cultural and historical heritage of the city or area in a high quality and interpretative way, and can refer to one-day excursions, seven-day or city break programs.

Golden plaque: Ventula travel DMC d.o.o. for the cultural tourism itinerary “Roman Salona and Split with the Historian”
Silver plaque: Tourist Board of Slavonski Brod for Cultural Tourism itinerary “Baron Trenk in Fortress Brod”
Bronze plaque: Gulliver travel for the cultural tourism itinerary “Korčula and Pelješac – enjoy the wine”
