ANTONIO BARONE

Antonie Barone is an authority on rural and cultural tourism, international territorial marketing, and community development. He has served as the Director of the Phoenicians’ Route – Cultural Route of the Council of Europe, UNWTO Core Working Group on the Phoenicians’ Route 2016-2018 — since 2003. He works with numerous universities, development organizations, and global organizations (ICOM, OECD, and others). Additionally, he has extensive knowledge of education, lifelong learning, heritage pedagogy, and creative and experiential tourism. Author and co-author of works on communicative interpretation, rural tourism marketing manuals, tourist itineraries, and wine routes. He is also an expert on Mediterranean culture, which he also has a deep appreciation for, a volunteer for UNICEF, a journalist, a fan of archeology, and a journalist.
